HOW IT STARTED

We first came across the ball of sunshine and positivity that is Jo Johnson Overby on TikTok. After having her as a guest on the Kiss My Aesthetic Podcast, it was a slam dunk to work together on her new branding — incorporating her love of lifestyle content creation, plants, motherhood, and home renovations. She also needed assets that helped separate Jo content vs. the Overby’s Content, which we were able to approach all under one scope of work.

WHAT WE DESIGNED

To fully encapsulate all the branches under Jo’s umbrella, we completed a Full Service Brand Design Project, followed by a VIP Day Creative Cavna Sprint, and Podcast Design for Oversharing with the Overbys.

The biggest challenge with this brand design project was making sure that the logo felt complete with so many letters. Jo having two last names (of different length) meant we had to get extra creative with letterforms to maintain balance, symmetry and structure.

The solution was to lean in to hand lettering with quirky characters, letter variance, and an overall pentagon shape construction. Doing so gave us flexibility in other parts of the brand to break letters from one another, creating more interesting compositions.
